The help you need

One of the bravest things a person can do is ask for “help”. I know from personal experience of therapy that finding the right therapist and making that connection can be a daunting process.

Taking the first step

I can imagine you might be wondering what therapy can offer and may be feeling a little off balance regarding what to expect. This is both normal and understandable. Rest assured whatever experiences and concerns you feel you want to bring to therapy, an authentic relationship with the right therapist can be just the spark you need to light the kindling of change.

In making these first steps trust can often be a factor. I am not asking for your trust as I deeply believe trust takes, amongst other things, time. However, I am inviting you to trust me enough to know I feel impassioned in providing a supportive and safe space where you can explore your concerns in more depth

For more information about what I can offer, and my therapeutic approach please read on. I sincerely look forward to meeting you and seeing what we can build together.

Our initial appointment provides us with space and time to have a gentle and collaborative discussion of your needs and circumstances, decide whether therapy may be helpful, and if we are a “good fit”.  It is essential for you to feel comfortable with me, your therapist, as this can make a significant difference to the outcome of your therapy. If we decide to work together, we will agree on the frequency of our sessions.

£45

I offer weekly and fortnightly face to face (in person) sessions depending on your needs. I do also offer online video/audio appointments and these are over Zoom/FaceTime. I have a bespoke private and comfortable office in my home which is located in a little village in Fife. Appointments will last 50 minutes unless negotiated otherwise. Payments can be made by BACS.

Concession Rates

To make therapy more accessible to as many individuals as possible, I offer a reduced rate for on-going appointments for those who are experiencing financial hardship.  Please contact me to discuss this further.

Frequently Asked Questions

What would you like to know?

What happens in therapy?

If you have never had counselling before, please be assured that I endeavour to make every new client feel welcome and comfortable (that includes a warm tea or coffee). You will not be pressured into sharing anything you don’t feel ready to.  Our first appointment will provide an opportunity to meet each other and agree what works best for us. I tailor my approach to your needs, so this will involve a gentle discussion to identify what you hope to gain from therapy.

How long will I be in therapy?

This depends on your individual needs and wants.  We will regularly review, I suggest every 6 weeks, your progress in therapy and can agree to further sessions if required. I provide both short and longer-term counselling.
